Most beauty places will do it. My sister took Beauty at college (we live in England) and i asked her and she said the products wont blind you if they went in your eye, but they would sting. So be best off just go into a local salon or spa

I'm a redhead and have light eyebrows and eyelashes. I want to make my eyes stand out more but I don't like the look of huge mascara - it makes me look like a drag queen. Should I get them tinted? If so:
1. How long does it last? I just want to test it out first.
2. What colour tint do I ask for? I just want a basic everyday one that is darker than the light red/brown lashes I have.
3. Will it look really weird?! Does it make them look bigger or just darker?

I don't think you should tint them. Just wear brown mascara.

The esthetician can't get it all the way to the roots so it basically looks like you tipped your lashes with very thin black mascara. I have dark brown/black eyelashes..the tips are lighter..i would like to perm or tint them. Anyone ever have this done? And what colors would look good..i know they have blue black. Mascara is made in every color of the rainbow, so use that and keep any kind of hair dye away from your eyes from now on!

I know you can't dye your hair, but what about eyelash dye. I have a tinting kit that i had been using every few months up until i starting trying to get pregnant. I am now 22 weeks along and my baby fine blonde eyelashes are back in full effect...i'd love to tint them black again so i don't have to keep wearing mascara everyday. Do you think it will hurt the baby...? It is SUCH a small amount...Can you tint your eyelashes while pregnant?

i had mine done and didnt like it. they were tinted black and although they were darker they didnt have the 'wow' that mascara adds....you know how it makes them longer and curved....

Most people find it lasts about 4 weeks. so when its time to dye your hair again, its probably time to dye the lashes again. You can for sure wear eyeliner. it doesnt effect your makeup at all. you can still wear eyeliner and mascara just as you did before.
Talk to someone at a salon about it, and they will show you what the use, and go threw the steps with you.
its fairly simple. you lay back, they remove any makeup from the eyes, mix up the dye and apply it to your lashes. You stay like this, eyes closed for anywhere from 2 minutes (for a natural effect) to 10 minutes for a full effect.

I reckon it will look good on you, and you can go without mascara if you please.

I had mine done before i went on holiday to france at the end of july and it's still kind of there. I found it really good because my eyelashes are really light. I also used a clear mascara on top of it to give it a little extra shine and volume.
I suggest you give it a go. If you dont like it, dont get it done again.. simple.

I have had mine tinted and also permed. Right now I have the eyelash extension on. THey are great. No need for mascara. Pretty much anything you do to your eyelashes needs to be redone on a monthly basis due to your eyelashes falling out and new regrowth coming in. It's not real obvious, but your eyelashes fall out and grow in more often than you would think!Eyelash tinting?

I'm in UK, and buy a little box with about a years supply (6months if I do my brows as well) for 拢6. (That's about $11 if you're in the US) That's roughly the price of most good quality mascara's and even mascara needs to be replaced every 3 months, so in the end tinting is cheaper.
And the result is brilliant. My lashes look naturally black, and if I want them to look dramatic, I put some clear mascara on to give them a nice gloss.
I would recommend it!

my friend is a strawberry blonde so she always tints /dyes her eyelashes and it looks great - It wasn't a lot of money something like 8 bucks and it lasted around 2 months but not if you go to the pool with chlorinated water
My sister-in-law went to have her eyebrows and lashes tinted about a year ago. The stylist got the products mixed up and put the lash tint on her eyebrows and visa versa. Needless to say, her brows ended up a very pretty shade of blue. lol

Ive bought brown and black eyelash and eyebrow dye and now need the solution to go with it! I live in Greece and cant find the stuff anywhere so i found out on internet that its 3% peroxide so i bought a spray with 3% peroxide from the chemist. he said its used for wounds. Is this the right stuff? Its called Gerosept spray Hydrogen peroxide 3%. Is that ok to mix with my dye??

No, its probably not the same, so for safety, i wouldnt use it.
You need to actually buy a 3% peroxide solution that has no other ingredients. Using things like peroxide for hair or other things containing the 3% peroxide could be dangerous.
It's uaually available from Beauty Therapist's wholesalers.
Eyebrow and eyelash tints can be done at home, but its always better to get it done in a salon. Its a safer environment where there's less chance for things to go wrong, like tint allergies, or how the tint is applied as they are trained how to do it.
Tints for eyebrows and lashes should be mixed in a special glass dish with 1cm of the tint and 3 drop of the peroxide. And should only be mixed after all the perperation has been done,
Eyelashes: make sure theres no makeup on the eyes or lashes. put petroluim jelly on the whole upper lid, and down to the lash line (avoiding the lashes) and under the eye. Place a damp cut in half cotton pad on the petrolium jelly so the tint diesnt stain the skin. mix the tint the same as before and paint onto the lashes. (it'll be so much easier if you get someone to do this for you. do it on both eyes then place another full damp cotton pad over each eye while they are closed. These stay on for 10 minutes then are wiped off.
For eyebrows, make sure they are free of makeup/dirt and apply petrolum jelly (vasiline) around the eyebrows (avouding the hair) and then mix the tint until it is a smooth paste, using a disposeable mascara want to go in the opposite direction of the hair growth, then remove with damp cotton pads, redo if its not dark enough. Then shape.Eyelash and eyebrow tint solution?

I actually had my eyebrows dyed three days ago so that they would match my newly dyed light brown hair. For the record, I had dark brown hair and black eyebrows before.
Anyway, it was cheap and I did notice that some sections of my eyebrows were a light brown colour but it looked patchy because the arches were still black. I now even it out using brown eyeshadows.
If you have dark eyebrows like I do, the end result may be similar to mine should you have them tinted. If you have fine, lightish black eyebrows, go for it! Make sure you have it done at a beauty salon that is fully qualified to perform these procedures because it is risky.
I wouldn't recommend getting your eyelashes tinted though, that sounds really dangerous.

she had to stay in for 2 weeks and her whole face puffed up and she lost all her eyelashes

i am a natural redhead and therefore have almost transparent eyelashes. my eyes look incredibly small without mascara to open them up, but it gets annoying when it runs after swimming/exercising/crying etc. i have heard about eyelash tinting but do not know where to go to get it done. i live in the mclean, va area. thanks!Where can i get my eyelashes tinted?
Too scary putting chemicals near your eyes!!! Use the mascara - there are lots of waterproof varieties, but the best ones are in the mall stores (MAC, Clinique, etc.)

It is really worth it but some people can find it uncomfortable if the dye leaks into your eyes (make sure and go to a reputable beautician and relax). However I have also done home dyes on both eyebrows and eyelashes and they worked really well where you have full control of the tint. Most home dye packs have very good instructions and are available from any Boots or Superdrug. I did stop wearing mascara on a daily basis but if I wanted a bit more definition I used clear mascara which avoids the panda eyes problem in the morning. I would suggest getting it done professionally a few times and then when you get used to the procedure try the home dye kits, much cheaper and can be used time and time again on eyebrows and eyelashes. Also bear in mind that many beauticians will give a slight discount for brow and lash tint together. Hope this was useful, good luck!Have you ever had your eyelashes tinted?
I did but it didn't make a noticeable difference to me as only the ends of mine are blond but it sounds like it could be quite good for you. You can buy DIY kits that you can use for both eyelashes and eyebrows, theyre really easy to use and loads cheaper than getting it done in a salon.

I heard that instead of wearing mascara everyday (like i do) its easier and more convinient to tint your eyelashes. My friend tints her eyelashes and she told me she does it at home with a do it yourself pack. It uses like a mascara brush and you just brush it on and it is permanent (sorta like hairdie) but it also grows out after a while which wouldnt be a problem for me as i have black eyelashes anyway. What i was wondering is, is it worth doing? Has anyone tried tinting there eyelashes? I thought it would be easier as you dont get mascara smudges everywhere as i am a highschool student and tend to get mascara smudges alot. haha :)

I have my lashes tinted with a vegetable tint. This is a LITTLE less harsh than other alternatives. It lasts as ong as your eyelashes do. Your eyelashes fall out and regrow constantly. Everyone's loss%26amp;growth rates are as different as everyone's DNA. On average, 4-6 weeks. The perming is a harsher process, and because you don't want your eyelashes to break, fall out all together, you have no choice but to wait a good period between processes. I would highly recommend you invest in a Shu Umera eyelash-curler (round rubber pads on BOTH ends) and puch your eyelashes upwards with Vaseline every night (trains AND conditions them), and opt just for the vegetable dye (you can get that in pitch black, too!)

Eyelash tint stain?
Went to beautican yesterday and lady gave me an eyelash tint but it has stained below my eyes. Now I look like I have permanent dark circles which I have tried to cover up with concealer. Please can someone let me know is there any remover I can use to get rid of it or will it eventually come off after new skin layer grows. I have tried normal eye makeup remover and it doesn't help. Tinting will stain the color lightly and then fade of slowly. It doesn't change the color of your lashes. Just build color that you want to achieve. So this won't look odd, as it takes a while for your lashes to grow. By the time your lashes grow your ready to do the next tint.
Usually you won't get a reaction, ask the salon to do a patch test.

My eye lashes are quite fair so if i have them tinted it makes a massive difference and looks really nice. I wouldn't bother though if your lashes are already quite dark because you wont really see a difference. It doesn't add volume etc like mascara does.

Use Ponds cream, the one with a green cap, smear it where you need the black tint to come off, rub it in real good ( it will make you look like you have a black eye) and then swipe it off with a kleenex and Voila!!!

my friend is gettng her eyelashes tinted in a salon next month and wants me to go with her and get them done too.
im tempted cos im blonde and have blonde eyelashes but ive heard the dye isnt safe (i would think it was as its designed for the eye area and used it reputable salons) and something about eyelashes falling out!!!? is it the dye that causes them to fall out? i dont want that! also is it worth it? i dont think tinting will give the fullness and volume that mascara does but i cant be bothered with mascara on holiday!

I've had my eyelashes tinted and didn't ruin them at all...have only had it done once though...I can't seem to wear black mascara even waterproof seems to smudge and on a night out I don't want panda eyes...think its because I had a bad experience with mascara so now I just use clear if any x

Probably not much, unless the reaction caused permanent damage which can be proved by a doctor. Otherwise, let the salon know about your reaction. At best, you may be able to get a refund. Be aware also that this may not be the salon's fault - a person can develop an allergy at any time. Hair dye and bleaches that you have used before without incident could cause sudden sensitivity. Probably not much, unless the reaction caused permanent damage which can be proved by a doctor. Otherwise, let the salon know about your reaction. At best, you may be able to get a refund. Be aware also that this may not be the salon's fault - a person can develop an allergy at any time. Hair dye and bleaches that you have used before without incident could cause sudden sensitivity. It really depends. If you wear foundation or powder, when you put it on it will cake over it. Also, mascara provides thickening which you'll not get with tinting only.

I have brown-red hair naturally, but as I have arabic in my family, I'm not the typical redhead. My eyes are brown and I have lightish brown eyelashes. tinting is a really good idea as it makes you look a lot fresher every day without the need for applying loads of mascara, and you can add mascara to make it even bolder and for when it starts dying off in the pool, just be careful not to be to rough when taking off mascara with tinited lashes as they will be dryer
try butting vaseline on them before you go to bed as this will help them to stay supple and not snapping off and will help keep the tint for longer

If you do get them done, first time, it's best to get thme professionally done as they would be more experienced and know what they are doing.
Eyelash tinting does not hurt, it's like the way you dye your hair, accept you have a brush, kinda like using mascara.
You can also choose what colour, like midnight blue, usually those who have very light eyes and hair, get them tinted darker, as it stands out more. It brings your eyes out more. i know a girl at my school with blonde hair and she got her eyelashes tinted black, everybody thought it was thick mascara she used, but it was all from the tinting. I want to get my eyelashes tinted because they are very blonde. However i am really looking for a more natural look rather than it looking like i am wearing mascara all the time. use curler to curl it.. and apply liquid mascara just once... never apply it again and again.. and make sure the brush doesnt carry too much of liquid.. it should look natural... dont care abt the curls while applying mascara...

Does eyelash tinting work?
I'm thinking about getting my eyelashes professionally tinted and just wondering if anyone has had it done and if it works? How long does it usually last and what's involved in getting it done?

x--- I have it done whenever I have the time takes about 20 mins and you have to be careful as it can sting don't keep your eyes squeezed too tightly shut while it is on just closed and no peeping. I have very light lashes and it does make a difference and does not smudge and no need to apply for weeks. It gives the eyes a more defined look and makes them appear bigger----well worth the trouble. I try to have it done when I get my hair trimmed as I dislike the neat cut look but like the appearance of darker eyes. Have also worn brown contact lenses really cool as I have blue eyes.Does eyelash tinting work?
I've had this done but wasn't impressed with it. I have very fair skin and red hair and although my lashes are long, they are practically clear. The guy who did them insisted on using black, telling me that it looks good on everyone. Well it didn't look good on me. It looked like I had slept in my mascara and it had worn off the lashes except for near the lashline. I felt like I had to wear makeup all the time because I didn't like the look of the lashes. Fortunately though it lasted only about 4 weeks or so. When I got them tinted I was under the impression that my lashes would look very similar to wearing mascara, that they would look darker and defined, but the color didn't seem to extend to the ends of my lashes which made them look weird. I would talk to the salon professional about it first and find out how much experience they have and what not, and how lashes usually look when they are done, that way you will know more accurately what the results will be.make up lipstick

I'm asian and have black eyelashes and eyebrows and medium skin tone. I'm thinking of having the hairs tinted but not sure if I would benefit from this since the hairs are black already??

Instead of eyelash tinting (I'm afraid it won't work on black eyelashes) you can try a combination of eyelash perming which curls very straight lashes and consider using fake eyelashes. You can cut them down to size and use individual ones to bulk out sparse lashes on the bottom and and volume and length to the appearances of your top lashes.
I started using them for a bit of fun when I go out and they do really look great. You just need to get the hang of putting them on.

you might try one of the organic brands, but I would NEVER use a regular drugstore brand near my eyes. The peroxide is much too dangerous for eye damage.
eyelash tinting is not done with haircolor!!! it is done with special eyelash tint. it's perfectly safe as long as you aren't allergic to it, and it looks great on anyone i have seen it on. go for it! it's a great alternative to mascara!
Consider that your eyelashes fall out and regrow every couple of weeks or so before making such an investment. This would be nearly as much work as applying mascara daily, and get costly quick.
If your eyelashes are long and thick, you could try easing into the natural look by just wearing a little bit of brown liner, moisturizer, and lipgloss/chapstick, and eventually dumping the liner... As you get used to seeing yourself without makeup, it will stop looking funny to you and you won't feel as self conscious on the days you go natural. I know it's hard (I wish I had dark lashes too) but try to embrace your natural appearance. :)
